About eTutorWorld:

eTutorWorld was founded in 2008 in Glen Arbor, Michigan, and Bangalore, India, with a mission to provide the highest quality online private tutoring in Math, Science, and English, to elementary, middle and high school students worldwide. We realized that by leveraging highly qualified yet cost effective tutors sourced from India, tutoring could be made much more affordable and convenient, without compromising on the quality of education provided to students. Our goal is to support parents and offer what each child needs to be successful as an individual, in a welcoming and supportive community.

A state-of-the-art technology platform was developed for online tutoring using web conferencing and voice over IP (VOIP) technologies; and an excellent math, science and english curriculum was designed in line with state and federal curriculum guidelines. After extensive field testing across the US, eTutorWorld launched its new online tutoring services in the US in 2009.

Over the past 12 years, eTutorWorld has helped thousands of K-12 students across the US in building strong concepts in Math, Science and English, and in achieving better grades in school and in various standardized tests like SAT, ACT, AP, SCAT, SSAT, and CogAT.

The Founders and Management Team

Our team has a collective experience of more than 100 years in education and technology. eTutorWorld was co-founded by Mukul Agrawal, Alka Agrawal and Ashima Sarkar.

Mukul Agrawal is the President and CEO of the company. Before starting eTutorWorld, Mukul was Managing Director and India Country Manager for Unisys, running a successful, fast growing, and profitable India operation with $50 million in revenues and 2400 staff, providing outsourced business services to Unisys global customers. Prior to this, Mukul held senior corporate positions in the global IT and banking industries, spending 27 years with IT companies such as Tata Consulting and Fiserv, and banks such as Citibank and Deutsche Bank. Mukul completed his Bachelor of Engineering degree from MS University of Baroda in 1979 and his MBA from IIM Calcutta in 1981. Mukul lives in Bangalore, India, along with his family.

Ashima Sarkar is the Academic Operations Director of the company. She has extensive classroom teaching experience, most recently with Delhi Public School, and she did several years of online tutoring for US school students, before starting eTutorWorld. Ashima has a MS degree in Statistics from Mumbai University and BS in Education from Gujarat University. Ashima lives in Ahmedabad, India, along with her family.

Alka Agrawal is the Human Resources Director. Alka has a BS degree in Economics from Gujarat University, she loves talking to people, making sure we hire the best staff and that they are well looked after. Alka lives in Bangalore, India, along with her family.

Advisory Board

Marise Kumar, Customer Strategy Advisor. She has held senior global leadership positions in Marketing and Customer Strategy at Lowes, Best Buy, Whirlpool, and Colgate Palmolive. She lives in Charlotte, North Carolina, and now runs a boutique consulting firm, C2B Strategies.

Susan Martin, Partnership & Business Strategy Advisor. Former student-centered education advocate and 3 term NC State legislator with education policy, community engagement, and PTO leadership experience. Twelve years with IBM, MBA & BS from the University of Richmond. She lives in Nashville, TN, along with her family.
